What does that mean?

It means the Jelly bean is an affordable hand made gate available for everyone. it doesn't rely on difficult to source and expensive ICs, it doesn't need any split voltages or charge pumps. it's a stupid simple circuit that works well.

The Jelly bean should ideally be set up in the 4 cable method. It is designed so that it doesn't matter which jack you use for the send and returns as long as they are on the correct side. The right hand side is your input sense and send. the left hand goes to your effects loop. However it can be set up without an amp effects loop and can still kill noise as required.
