Legendary Solid-State Amp

At the 1995 NAMM show thousands of players, media, and dealers crammed into a small demo room inside the Peavey exhibit. Peavey engineers conducted a blind A/B comparison between their new invention (a Bandit solid-state guitar amp) and a real competitor’s tube amp. After listening closely, and critiquing the sounds from each, no one could tell the difference between the two. Some "golden ears" that visited the booth that fateful day thought the TransTube® Bandit solid-state amp was the real tube amp.

In crafting the patented TransTube Circuitry, our engineers meticulously examined every facet of tube amp functionality. Other manufacturers' half-hearted attempts at tube emulation failed because they focused on the wrong things. Peavey concentrated on emulating the tonal characteristics we all recognize and love about tubes and 86'd the rest. It's a seemingly simple concept, yet it took three U.S. Patents to map the entire process for the history books.
