Product description

In the shop we have a lightly used Eastwood Newport Shortscale Bass in Cherry Red!

This bass is in excellent condition with some small modifications. The original hand rest has been removed and a thumb rest has been installed in its place. The lower screw hold has been filled.

The bass is in great condition with the exception of a small ring around the back strap button from a strap rubbing and some scuffing on one of the horns.

This bass weighs 8.2lbs and does not include a case.

Here's more from Eastwood:

he EPI bass guitar, or EB-S, was manufactured between 1961 and 1969; and the Eastwood Newport bass takes its inspiration from the middle year, 1965.

1964-1966 were the peak years for the Newport and this is the popular version. Our tribute version stays true to the original: mahogany body, mahogany set (glued-in) neck with rosewood fretboard.

This combination of woods, pickup and construction give the Newport a distinctive deep, rich tone, but brighter snarlier tones are possible when played down by the bridge, rather than over the pickup. The short scale and light weight makes for a very playable instrument and very popular with guitar players.
