Product description
In the shop we have a lightly used Cortley CE200 Gold Top LP-Style Guitar!
Cortley Guitars were a Japanese Imported guitar for the Westheimer company in the 70s. Built in the same factories as many other Japanese imports (stafford, sigma, aria etc.), Cortley shared the same fate with these guitars when Gibson sued many of these companies for copyright infringement.
Aside from the "controversy" many of these guitars are still around today, jumping from closet to stage when played, as they are typically quality builds with some quirks.
This guitar is in great condition for being nearly 50 years old! Aside from cosmetic dings and scratches (pictured) the guitar has some fret wear, most notably on frets 1-6 as well as a dig in the fret board above the first fret. The tune-o-matic bridge has somewhat collapsed (flattened out) so the radius isnt perfect. This is easily correctable by swapping out for a new bridge.
This guitar weighs 8.55lbs and does not include a case.
Here are specs translated from a Japanese catalog:
- Maple arched top & mahogany solid body
- Mahogany 3-piece bolt on neck
- Rosewood fingerboard
- 2 Mini Humbucking Pickups
- Tune-o-matic type bridge
