Bart Reiter Bart Reiter 12" Open Back Banjo

In the shop we have a beautiful used 12" Open Back "Peak" Model 5-string Banjo built by Bart Reiter in Lansing, Michigan.

Bart, now retired, is known for building high-quality banjos, setting the standard for modern builders. 

This instrument is no exception. Made for claw-hammer and "old-time" styles, the Peak Open back has a loud yet balanced response. 

This banjo has some wear, most notably fret wear on 1-5. The banjo plays clearly despite the wear. There is also light wear to the headstock (pictured). The 5th string has spikes on 7-10. The banjo features an Ebony Fingerboard and a Mahogany Neck with Ebony accent end cap. The Rim is maple with a rolled brass rim. There is a patina to the rim where a players arm or chest may have rested. There is an arm rest. Installed are 5 planetary tuners. 

Banjo weighs 6.45lbs and includes a Heavy Duty Foam Case.
