Product description
In the shop we have a beautiful 1976 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe!
This guitar is all original except for tuners, which had been swapped for Grovers. The original strap buttons are included, but have been swapped on the guitar for Schaller Strap Locks, strap side is in the guitar case.
This guitar has a beautiful light brown burst that shows of the flamed center maple on it's 4-piece maple top.
There is some aging to the hardware, but everything is moving and functioning as it should. There are some light divets in the the cowboy positions but the guitar is playing great at 2/32nds on the bass and treble sides. There are some normal wear marks on the back, but for its age, the back is remarkably clean.
Apparently Gibson wasn't making Standards from '71-75 outside of special orders. In '76 they reintroduced the model, resulting in the production theses almost hybrid model Les Pauls. The pickup cavities are original full-sized humbucker routes, the truss rod cover says Standard, but the back of the headstock says Deluxe.
Now for the strangest part, under the lacquer beneath the truss rod cover, someone has written "Spooky Tooth" in pencil. We have no way of connecting this to Mick Jones or his 60/70s band Spooky Tooth, but its mystery is none the less cooler.
This guitar weighs 10.4lbs and includes Hardshell Gibson USA case.
