1976 Fender Silverface Twin Reverb

   Offered here is a 1976 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface, featuring the desirable CBS-era Push/Pull Master Volume design. This is the classic 100-watt, all-tube Twin Reverb sound: huge, articulate clean headroom, rich spring reverb, and tube-driven tremolo, all from a true vintage Fender platform.

   This particular Twin has been fully serviced and thoughtfully updated for reliable modern use, while retaining its vintage character. Service work includes a complete electrolytic capacitor recap, replacement of the original two-prong power cord with a proper three-prong grounded cord, and updated wiring to modern safety specifications. The original ground switch/death-cap arrangement has been removed from the circuit. The factory Bias Balance circuit has also been converted to the more common fixed-bias arrangement found in Blackface-era Twin Reverbs, making biasing more straightforward and service-friendly. The plate and cathode resistors have been upgraded to flameproof versions, and the amp has a fresh set of JJ 6L6GC power tubes.

   The amplifier retains its original 1976-dated Utah 12-inch speakers, adding to its vintage appeal and keeping this Twin connected to its original-era character. With two 12-inch speakers and 100 watts of all-tube power, this is an amp that delivers enormous clean headroom and plenty of volume for virtually any stage or studio application.

   The Twin Reverb's two channels provide the familiar Normal and Vibrato/Vibrato channel layouts, with independent EQ controls and the classic Fender voicing. The onboard real spring reverb provides everything from subtle ambience to lush, spacious Fender reverb, while the tube-driven tremolo offers adjustable speed and intensity. The Push/Pull Master Volume is a distinctive feature of this CBS-era model and provides additional versatility.

   Cosmetically, the amp is in good overall vintage condition, showing the normal signs of age you would expect from a nearly 50-year-old amplifier. There is some light discoloration in the grille cloth, along with the usual cosmetic wear and signs of age on the casters. Overall, it presents well for its age and has the kind of honest vintage character that is difficult to replicate.
