1975 Silverface Fender Vibrolux Reverb 2x10" 40-Watt Tube Combo

In the shop we have a 1974 Fender Vibrolux Reverb! LOCAL PICKUP ONLY

This Silverface amplifier delivers the classic fender tone with reverb and vibrato in a 2x10” 40-watt combo package, making for an amp that sparkles clean, and breaks up with a creamy saturation at higher volumes. Thanks to the services below this amp is in excellent working condition, ready for another 50 years of gigging! This unit includes footswitch and the original tolex cover, although the cover has torn and shrunk, no longer able to fit over the amp. Aside from those notes, this amp has a very lively reverb tank, that could be replaced with something tamer but has been left for originality. As pictured, the amp’s chromed parts have a nice patina while the tolex and grille cloth have managed to escape any unseemly damage except for one small hole next to the Fender logo. The original back cover was lost to time, so we fabricated a new backing.

This amp has been fully serviced:

• Full electrolytic recap
• replaced rubber rotted 3 prong power cord with updated 3 prong wiring (removing death cap and converting to modern safety standard)
• rebuilt the bias board that had drifted from specification with flame proof components.
• replaced artificial center tap resistors with flame proof versions
• replaced cathode bypass resistors with flame proof
• replaced grid stopper resistors that had drifted
• replaced faulty vibrato optocoupler
• replaced faulty reverb driver transformer
• full JJ tube retube
• Modified the bias circuit to be adjustable fixed bias+bias balance
• replaced faulty footswitch cable
• fabricated a new back panel that covers the tubes to replace missing back panel.
