Product description
In the shop we have an early hand-wired Mesa Boogie from 1975, Pre Mark 1!
This amp was hand-wired very early in Mesa production, numbered #A375!
Based on the date codes, the power transformer was made in the 45th week of 1975 and the output transformer was made in the 36 week of 1975. Combined with the serial number we can determine that this amp was built between late 74 and 1975.
This amp is all original except for an upgraded power cable and unoriginal Celestion G12-65 Speaker.
This runs at 60watts and has 6L6 output tubes.
The Inputs cascade into each other with a "Pull" feature on the first channel that adds a ton of boost! So much gain on tap! Otherwise the channels operate super clean with the first channel being "Boogie" voiced (high gain) and the 2nd channel being "Fender Bassman Esque."
A master Volume tames both channels while a 3 band eq is available for tone shaping.
There is an effects loop and second out put on the back as well as a ground switch. Normal Standby and Power switches are present on the front of the amp.
The Blonde tolex of this amp has aged and taken on a few stains and tears but is in good condition while the grill cloth is also has some light wear but is in great shape.
This is a really cool piece of history and by the way it sounds freaking amazing!
Get it while you can!
Amp weighs 42.5lbs, measures aprox 19"x18"x10" and does not include a case or cover.
