In the shop we have a roasted Swamp Ash Tele from Wright Minds Musical Instruments.
Wright Minds Musical Instruments is an Indiana based company. Mr. Wright has an eye for excellent wood, neck shapes, pickup combinations, and relic'd finishes, making for builds that look, feel, and sound like guitars that have been around for decades!
This roasted swamp ash guitar features a thick baseball bat neck that's an absolute slugger to play. With CTS pots, a Schroeder TL bridge, and David Allen Colt '51 Tele pickups, this guitar is no little league player!
Here's more on the Colt '51 Tele pickups from David Allen:
"This set was based on an actual 1951 Fender Tele set that had "The Sound". We learned a few interesting facts on the examination of the set of pickups especially in the bridge. There were some minor physical differences that had a huge influence on the Tone. We had to have some custom material made to be able to create the bobbin and get tone of the original. It was worth the wait and cost of the materials to make this set. We wrapped the bridge with a twine that has a brownish color to look aged. The bridge will play bright but not harsh or brittle and have a nice tight bass and very even output string to string.
