This pickup is opened but has not been used or installed in any guitar. This pickup is the vintage-correct single conductor push-back braided lead wire version. Here's more info from Seymour Duncan:

Our butyrate bobbin molds are created by the same factory that built the original P.A.F. mold for Gibson.
